Taylor Photography Group was founded by Rick Taylor twenty four years ago, known primarily for great commercial location photography for Magazines, Annual Reports and Fashion Catalogs,. Within the last several years, Rick Taylor has made a big push to develop his wedding photography forming new approaches to Wedding/Event photography. These new approaches have been given the names - "Photojournalistic Style", "Artistic Style"; "Casually Posed", "Fashion Style", "The Romantic Collection", or "Combination Approach",

These styles are chosen by their Clients to customize their wedding photography to their own vision.

What is different about this, is that most photographers settle for one approach or style for the bride and groom to choose with a few rigid packages to select from. This new wedding division of commercial photographer Rick Taylor offers four photography approaches with everything in between. The choice is up to the bride and groom or event sponsor. Total flexibility is Rick Taylor’s Motto.

A big part of this new approach is Rick’s attitude which reflects people’s lifestyle today. Weddings are big events in families lives, bringing together family and friends from many parts of the country. Everyone is happy and expectant and want to enjoy the day in each other’s company. Enter Taylor Photography Group. Rick believes that the photographer should be as unobtrusive as possible, to seek out and document the day in an editorial style capturing moments that express the emotions, feelings and action of the day. He says he has no preconceived idea of what the wedding is going to be like, because they are all different. In the interview process He and The Bride and Groom figure out what photography approach matches their personalities.

Rick observes and record with his Digital Nikon’s (up to 8 frames per second) much like the master photographers did in the past. He catches the "decisive moment" pioneered by Cartier Bresson. Rick Taylor loves shooting Black and White wedding photography, which has found a resurgence of popularity today.

A different attitude that immediately makes itself apparent is Rick Taylor's concern to make his clients money go as far as is possible. The choices are so many at the Taylor Photography Group, that it is similar to shopping at a large super store where service and quality merchandise is available in many combinations of size, colors or infinite variations to suit most budgets.

Taylor Photography Group employs commercial photography "Tricks of the Trade" that make each Wedding/Event come to life in a way that no Traditional Wedding Photographer could do. Rick Taylor’s experience producing Fashion, Magazine, and Advertising Photography is now available to the Bride and Groom, making their Wedding a "Unique, One of a Kind Event". Event Photography also is greatly enhanced by their open attitude to exercise the clients individual requests.

Rick Taylor studied with Denis Reggie, Atlanta Based Celebrity Photographer, strengthening Rick’s Photojournalistic ability to offer The Preeminent Wedding Coverage. Mr. Reggie is often credited for coining the term "Photojournalistic Weddings" .

The Preeminent Wedding Coverage is photographed in a Photojournalistic and Artistic Style, reacting to the wedding, recording it rather than controlling it. This freedom is gratefully enjoyed by all, during the Wedding, allowing the events and proceedings to progress naturally rather than in a contrived manner. When the Wedding or Event is shot in this "Photojournalistic Style", there is a tremendous amount of images made available to the client, which in turn drives the cost of the coverage up. Taylor’s top coverage is currently priced at $24,300 and descends to a low $11,925. There are many choices at all levels. This level of service is for those seeking the ultimate attention to detail and service with only the finest materials used in albums and prints.

Rick Taylor's other mentors are Yervant of Australia, Gary Fong, of Los Angeles, Joe Buissink of Hollywood, and Tomas Romas, Destination Photographer.. Of course there have been other influences from the Fashion/Portrait world including the late Richard Avedon & Diane Arbus, Arnold Newman and classic portrait photographer Yosef Karsh. Phillip Halsman is also a favorite..

Taylor Photography Group offers a Album Coverage for those searching for a wedding coverage with a lesser budget. Here pricing is from $10,860-$3265. It features the newest cutting edge "Photojournalistic Style" that captures the spontaneous moments as they happen during the wedding, combined with the "Casually Posed Style" that is produced in a quick and easy manner. This coverage fits more of Atlanta's better weddings. This is a popular coverage for those searching for freedom from overbearing photographers utilizing some photojournalism photography combined with some posed shots everyone expects and loves.

Taylor Photography Group was one of the first studios in the nation offering images on CD in Hi Res format ready for printing by the client, saving them reprint costs from the photographer. Now the client can freely make prints in any size from wallets to 20x30 all at lab prices. With the Internet growing up, many labs now offer on-line ordering so no more trips to a local one hour lab. We reccomend www.mpix.com Price is even lower and combined with Rick Taylor's AlbumArt web site, his clients can save even more on their albums.

Finally, the most fun approach is "The Artistic Style." This is for the free of heart who want wedding photographs to look completely different from today's offering of approaches, albums and so forth. This style allows for complete freedom to experiment in new areas of photography. The choices are many. Just as film directors are experimenting with camera angles, lighting effects, points of views, soft focus, etc. so too is Taylor Photography Group. Grain techniques, blur motion, hard flash fill like current fashion photographers are using are many of the offerings in this group. Rick is inventing, and wanting to experiment as much as their clients will allow; often Black and White is the preferred medium in this approach. Open mindedness is the key to discovery here.

Rick Taylor, has photographed annual reports for Harris Teeter, Kinder-Care Learning Centers and Flowers Industries and is Better Homes and Garden Magazine main photographer for the entire Southeast. He has had five Better Homes and Garden Publications Covers, on the new stand at one time. He shoots interiors, gardens, people, events, (like The Georgia Flood of 95), and food for them as well. Rick Taylor has had assignments nationally in 41 States, The Caribbean and overseas, as far as Finland. He has even flown into Manhattan to shoot furniture at Wave Hill Gardens for Traditional Home Magazine. Even though he is known to be on the road much of the time, Atlanta does provide many opportunities for his lens because of it’s wonderful and growing neighborhoods. In fact three of the five recent cover shots were done in Atlanta.

Rick Taylor is available nationally/internationally for photographing Celebrity and Society Weddings and Events. He is most discrete and has the highest ethics.
